Freedom Fatigues is an American Lifestyle apparel brand located just outside of Detroit. We are a veteran/LEO owned and operated company dedicated to producing unapologetically patriotic apparel and accessories that are made right here in the USA. We have spent countless hours sourcing and selecting small businesses to partner with in order to provide our customers with quality, truly American-made products they can feel proud to wear and that embody the American way of life.
Born from a love for our country and a desire to serve, Freedom Fatigues is the means by which we support our fellow veterans and first responders. Our mission is to bring awareness to cumulative PTSD and hero suicide and to give back to nonprofits committed to the same.
As a family-run establishment, we strive to promote our country’s values and peacekeepers everywhere, partnering only with fellow American companies to produce our American-made merchandise of superior quality. With exceptional customer service, we always put our customers first and take great pride in our products and the message they convey.
Our story begins way back in high school where I first met my wife, Ryann. After finishing high school, I started college and then enlisted in the Air Force. Ryann also attended college and then traveled out to California for culinary school. I received my BS in public safety administration while also serving in the Air National Guard and then joined the police force in January of 2001 but was called to active duty following 9/11. In all, I served 9 years in the Air National Guard.
Ryann and I married in 2005 and went on to have 2 handsome boys, but in October of 2016 our life was turned upside down. While on duty and responding to a call, I was hit head on by another vehicle. This ultimately resulted in 3 spinal surgeries and an end to my career as a police officer, a job that I loved and took great pride in. In the midst of all this turmoil, we discovered we were pregnant with our baby girl, a ray of light during some of my darkest days.
Lying on the couch and healing from surgery, I spent a lot of time feeling sorry for myself. I had previously been a very active man. I loved to fish, hunt, build things and improve our home - all things I could no longer do. I felt like I had no purpose anymore and nothing to contribute to my family or this world. Freedom Fatigues was an idea I came up with to be able to create, give back, and stay connected - all the things I used to do but in a different form.
My wife and I run Freedom Fatigues all by ourselves. If it's not me that answers your emails, it's Ryann. We pick and ship all of our products. And when you make a purchase, you not only support American businesses and workers, you also support the nonprofits we partner with and help send our boys to soccer and our daughter to preschool. We couldn't do this without you, and for that we are beyond grateful.
We hope you love our brand as much as we love creating it. It embodies who we are and the values we hold, and it enables me to continue serving, albeit in a new way. It's a brand for the everyday hardworking patriot, and we hope it resonates with you as much as it does us. I'm sure we'll offend some people along the way with our unapologetically patriotic message, and that's ok, but hopefully we'll inspire many more.
